Overview

We began a motorhome tour of WW1 sites here. It was a great first stop, as both the visitor centre and cemetery are accessible. The cemetery is grass but manageable with the right chair.

Transport & Parking

We drove here by motorhome. Some of the roads off the main road are single track but we were fine and the venue itself is on a normal road. There is a car park to the right of the place, as you look at it. It looks tiny but there is blue badge parking and room for cars and a couple of coaches.

Access

5

The path from the car park to the visitor centre is paved and is nice and smooth. The visitor centre has an automatic door, which is nice and wide. It's all on one level and easy to get around. To get to the cemetery, there is a long slow ramped path. It was easy enough to get up. Once you enter the cemetery, it is grass, so much harder going. The cemetery is quite big and there are monuments and memorials around the edges. Most of these have large steps up but I got close enough to read them.

Toilets

I can't believe I forgot to check. I believe there are accessible toilets in a building at the back of the car park but I used my own in the motorhome.

Staff

I don't know if they were staff but some nice people greeted us and explained the easiest way around the centre and to the cemetery. They were very helpful.
