Overview
What a wonderful holiday - wish we were still there. Private heated pool has grab-handle near the steps, and it certainly made a difference getting in and out of the pool. Actually I noticed that everybody was using it and not just me! Another thing which we found useful was a couple of small plastic stools in the villa. I found these helped me get into the bath/ shower. One also was very useful to me in climbing into large hire car - in fact we took it around with us! Villa Athena is classed as limited mobility friendly, it has 2 bedrooms on ground floor, a large heated private pool, and the surrounding area is flat as it is sea level. There is decking access onto Coral Bay beach. This villa has some lovely shaded spots too in case the sun gets too much.
Transport & Parking
Cy-Breeze car hire met us at the airport with a much needed friendly face. Car was just outside arrivals hall. Much easier than other companies who park in nearby fields, so you have to go stand in sun and wait for a minibus (not for me). The villa itself was perfect for us and the pool was warm and inviting and the car even had its own shaded area! You can use your Blue Badge in Cyprus.
Access
I have put 3 stars as mentioned is it is not wheelchair accessible. It suits me and my family, as they all want to be close to the blue flag beaches.
Toilets
Grab rails on request for the toilets. Not wheelchair accessible so I have marked as 3 star
Staff
Thanks to Nicole the Sundance Rep. for her help - especially in finding out where and when the local football matches were being held. We book regularly with Irene at Sundance Villas as she tells it how it is, and also arranged for this grab rail by the pool, which you cannot see in the photos.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I hired a mobility scooter from Oberon Explorations who kindly brought along a portable ramp so I could get up and down the fairly serious kerbs in the local area. They were much used.
