Overview
Small, family run tea rooms serving delicious breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.
Transport & Parking
The tea rooms are located in Paignton town centre, a few minutes walk from the sea front. There is excellent public transport. Paignton railway station is step free and many buses stop close by.
Access
There is a small step into the tea rooms. The main room with the counter have free standing table and chairs. The tables are made from old Singer Sewing Machines, as it was in Paignton that the Singer family had their family homes (see my separate reviews on Oldway Mansion and the Palace Hotel). There are stairs, with a single hand rail, that leads to another dining area.
Toilets
There is no accessible toilet and the toilet they have is up a short flight of stairs.
Staff
The lady who works there was lovely, so friendly. I was welcomed in and she chatted to me asking me about my holiday. Service was excellent.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I had an afternoon tea, with a selection of sandwiches, a warm scone with jam and cream, a slice of cake of my choice and a pot of tea. It was delicious and beautifully presented. The tea rooms are in one of the roads in the town centre. It's worth while making the effort to find them as it's utterly charming. I will definitely return next time I'm in Paignton.
