Overview
This is an old theatre (1901) but is very wheelchair and disabled friendly. There is a side entrance on Commercial Street which allows a flat entrance to the stalls. It is also the easiet place to be dropped off/ picked up. Lower number seats are nearer that entrance and disabled toilet. Staff will do anything they can to help you. There are wheelchair spaces. You need to contact the box office by phone to book these and often you can get a free carer entry too.
Transport & Parking
There are a couple of on road disabled parking spaces outside. There are nearby on road spaces. There is also a small car park at Bull Green. There is no dedicated car park. There is no real public transport outside the theatre. Just the normal you would find in a town center dotted around. Taxis can drop you off and pick you up outside though.
Access
Although the main entrance has two steps and steps/ramps inside. There is a flat side entrance that takes you directly to the stalls avoiding the theatre lobby.
Toilets
Dedicated disabled toilet near the side entrance. Staff seem to guard this at interval to stop everyone using it. Disabled toilet is clean and well maintained.
Staff
Staff are very friendly and will do whatever they can to help you. Booking staff are very knowledgeable and will suggest the best seats for your needs.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I have been to a wide range of theaters and this is the most disabled friendly that I have been too.
