This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Hearing Aid, Walking Aid
Overview
I had a hearing aid related medical appointment. I am a walking frame user, and I arrived to find an unsupervised reception, a sign telling me to take the stairs to the first floor, and a broken lift. I walked around looking in vain for a staff member. The pharmacist ignored me, still no receptionist. Eventually I found a practise nurse who just told me to climb the stairs and leave my walking frame in the stairwell because “nobody is going to want it”. I did so, and explained to the audiologist what had transpired, and how I felt it showed rather poor disability awareness. Her reply? “Ok. So you’re here to learn how to use the app?” I repeated my comment, as did she. Eventually I received an apology and a suggestion to add to my notes that I used a walking frame. But it was like pulling teeth. No stars! Avoid.
Transport & Parking
Took taxi. Tried to walk back but roads were closed and bus stops were closed. 3/4 of a mile from the nearest bus. Uneven pavement. Taxi was £17.00 from Victoria station.
