This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair

Overview

Two major things I would point out here - follow the signs (English & Italian) and obey the rules (dress code, no photos) - you can't go far wrong! Have your passport handy for admittance to the museum.

Transport & Parking

0

I would strongly advise going on foot - as I did.

Access

Getting around St Peter's Square is easy as it is on the flat - but when we saw The Pope, there were crowds to be negotiated. It's basically find a space! Entry into The Vatican Museum is via a lift then there is a long walk through several galleries filled with awesome treasures to The Cistine Chapel (there is a stairlift), which is packed with people. There is a lift up to The Basilica & a ramp into it.

Toilets

3

There are various toilets dotted around The Vatican - just ask.

Staff

3

Variable - ranging from the helpful to the offhand. (But they all speak English.)

Anything else you wish to tell us?

For sheer interest sake - even if you're not particularly religious, it is well worth a visit.
