Overview

The USS Midway (an aircraft carrier) is amazing, so large that you would never believe you are afloat. As a blind traveller I loved it as there is lots to touch and an excellent audio guide. Wheelchair users would be able to access the majority of the ship as there is a lift and be able to see the majority of exhibits, just missing out on a very small part of the lowest open deck and being able to get inside some of the aircraft. The staff were passionate about the Midway and eager to support.

Transport & Parking

Parking was near to the ship and taxis could stop right outside the reception

There was a lift available and wheelchair users could get to the majority of the ship. The audio guide was very good for visually impaired visitors.

Plan to spend a good 3-4hrs here - tge size and learning about the lvies of the men/women who served aboard was fascinating.
