Overview
Stopped for lunch, after the long drive to visit Uig Sands in the Isle of Lewis, to see where the Lewis Chess Set was discovered Tasty food & home baking in particular, and a decent cup of coffee…most unexpected to find on the edge of Europe! Situated in the Community Centre , really is a wee gem of a place. Only thing that lets it down are the accessible toilets
Transport & Parking
Very remote area , we drove One dedicated accessible driving space, but plenty of parking spaces available
Access
Slight bump at the entrance, but everything on the flat once in the building. Signage sufficient
Toilets
There was an accessible loo, but I couldn’t actually use it, as I could not get my chair close enough to transfer, once the pull down handle was down. Not a lot of grab rails, and sink a bit high. Toilet is a reasonable size, just the placement of the toilet makes it difficult
Staff
Very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble
