Overview
It was a rather wet day when we had a trip to Whitely Bay, and had not actually heard of the Tynemouth Aquarium and just spotted it when driving past. I am really pleased we spotted it and enjoyed seeing what was on display
Transport & Parking
There was a large carpark adjacent to the aquarium with a number of disabled parking bays close to the entrance to the aquarium, although we felt that these were not well signposted.
Access
Access was via a flat path, which was ideal for wheelchair users. Inside, it was easy for the wheelchair to get about. Understandably, I found that some displays were not viewable.
Toilets
There were accessible toilets inside the building but I did not use them and therefore the score I have allocated may be incorrect
Staff
Other than the person at the desk, we had no interaction with staff members, although there were some going about. Also talks were given at various times during the day.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Hand Sanitizer 'pumps' were available throughout the aquarium. More information on the Aquarium can be found at https://www.tynemouthaquarium.co.uk/ There was also an excellent café attached to the aquarium.
