Overview
An all round poor experience
Transport & Parking
Easily accessible by car. Disabled parking OK, however spaces are unmarked so poor parking quickly leads to a shortage in spaces.
Access
All area's of the zoo are level and somewhat accessible by wheelchair. However some path ways are loose gravel which can be difficult to move through and the nature of some 'rugged' pathways are unsafe. Some enclosures include for widows with low sills which is great for wheelchair users however the glass is a problem for visually impaired. Doors to all 'houses' are not DDA compliant and a struggle to access with a wheelchair.
Toilets
All generally unclean, and of the porta cabin variety. Disabled facilities, shared with baby change so queues, impatient people a problem. No disabled changing.
Staff
indignant.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We visited on a bank holiday, which was busy but not crazy. I would recommend that a visit is planned for a week day, as viewing windows/ rooms get busy fast and then are inaccessible by wheelchair. The 'food court' is the same and becomes a living hell for anybody who needs more to move around. Tables are inaccessible as so close to each other, always dirty. We encountered many ignorant people including staff on our visit.
