Overview
My overall experience was so poor that I would not come to this venue again. From incorrect information on their website regarding the distance to the closest station to the reception and security staff and general attitude I would suggest you avoid it.
Transport & Parking
The venue suggests you use public transport but incorrectly stated they are 200 metres from the dlr station (it is actually 400 metres). They have no parking facilities at all. They said you could be dropped at the venue whilst someone parks your car, the car parking they suggest is one stop away on the dlr. This is not necessarily helpful if you need your carer with you. So overall the journey was awful.
Access
There were long queues to get in. We walked to security at the front to be let in, they made us wait while able bodied people jumped in front of us and because I needed the barriers moved to get in made us wait longer than was necessary. We were directed to a step entry which I tripped on it. Due to the pain I was in by this point I shouted for a seat in the foyer. There were none available and I ended up collapsed on the stairs crying in pain. Venue staff were unhelpful and directing people to walk over me. The guidance to where our seats were was appalling and as someone with limited mobility I was directed to walk down narrow rows over people when I could have been directed an easier route to the end of the row. The accessible seats had no steps from the foyer, but there was a bar at eye level blocking the view.
Toilets
The toilets were passable, however the venue had lost their radar key when we arrived, luckily I had mine. The disabled loo was difficult to get in and felt a bit like a dumping ground.
Staff
Awful. Please see other comments.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This venue might be ok if you can afford to get a taxi to the venue and if you are either more able to walk than me or in a chair. However I would have struggled to access the toilets in a chair. Overall it was an appalling experience that means I would never go to this venue again. Their staff definitely need more training on accessibility.
