Overview

My husband (on his mobility scooter) and I went to watch the Trent Rockets at Trent Bridge. We parked in the official car parking at Bridge Field and enjoyed our afternoon. There were accessible loos but my husband didn't need to use them so this review doesn't include them

Transport & Parking

We drove to the ground and parked in the official car park at Bridge Field. I don't think it was possible for us to park any closer and not within the ground itself. If you are not able to walk then you will need some kind of wheeled conveyance - there didn't seem to be any designated drop-off points. The Bridge Field is essentially a grassed field, so the surface will vary with recent weather. They do have a designated blue badge parking area but (as is quite common I think) the stewards don't really understand that a disabled person may need to open their door very wide and may need to be able to access their boot and have space to assemble scooters/wheelchairs etc. They made us park a bit tighter than was completely comfortable. The short journey from the car park to the ground is on public pavements. We went in at the first gate we came to and had to deal with one road en route - there was a dropped kerb on either side. We actually went twice in the last fortnight and on the first visit we arrived before the gates opened. The queue made using the dropped kerb on the up side a bit difficult and my husband had to hover on his scooter in the (thankfully closed) road until the queue moved forward and he could join me. I did look at booking a parking space through Just Park and the Coop at West Bridgford offer spaces at a very reasonable price. I did see the Coop as we were going into the venue - it is very close - it is on the other side of the Bridgeford Road - I don't know how easy it would be to cross the road with a scooter or wheelchair.

Access

Generally the surfaces were flat and easy for my husband to traverse on his scooter. We didn't encounter any permanent obstacles at all but the crowds made it a bit difficult - there were quite a few "pinch points" and people not looking where they were going. The seating system for wheelchair/ scooter users was excellent. My husband had a wheelchair space next to my seat on the front row of the Terrace. We were in the Radcliffe East Terrace.

The staff we interacted with were generally very nice and very helpful including the ticket inspectors at the gate, the bag checkers on security, the stewards in the seating areas and the lady selling the icecreams!
