Overview

There is a ramp into the building and the doors are automated. There is a lift down to the bar level, then a member of staff can take disabled customers down to the levels of the theatre. You pass down a back corridor and through into the auditoriums. No stairs are involved.

Transport & Parking

I didn't require the disabled parking, but apparently they have disabled parking spaces on Cambridge Street, just opposite the theatre.

Access

Toilets

There is a disabled toilet on ground level. The only thing I would say is that it is behind two sprung doors, and these posed a problem for me on crutches. The toilet itself was adequate though.

Staff

The member of staff took me down in the lift to the level of the theatres and took me down the corridor to Traverse 2. She reserved me a seat in the front row and even brought me a stool upon which I could elevate my leg, as I had to keep it elevated for the circulation. At the interval she came to collect me to take me up in the lift to the bar, and did the same at the end of the interval.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I also visited the theatre during the Festival this year and saw a play in Traverse 1. I was led to an area which had plenty of space for wheelchairs and was provided with a bench upon which I could elevate my leg.
