Overview

I was booked to stay at Travelodge Edinburgh Central Waterloo Place but when I turned up there were no accessible rooms available, so I was moved to Rose Street. I've done a separate review regarding Waterloo Place. This is to do with Rose Street which I found was nice but would not be my first choice when I am next in Edinburgh.

Transport & Parking

5

From Waverley Train Station it's a short walk along Prince's Street and then a short uphill walk to the hotel.

Access

5

The hotel is entirely step free. I think there is automatic doors at the entrance. The lifts are behind reception and lift took me up to my room. The room was fine, typical Travelodge, comfortable and clean. There was a call button by the bed. The en suit bathroom was wheels in shower, and was spacious, clean, and contained grab rails and an emergency cord. Sorry I did not take as many photos as usual, when I arrived I was exhausted after a 4 day coach trip and then turning up at my original hotel to find I was needing to be moved.

Toilets

I don't know if they have any communal accessible toilets.

Staff

The member of staff on front desk was very helpful. I needed some water to take my medication and she went and brought me a couple of small bottles of water to my room. It was much appreciated.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I had a nice comfortable stay but compared to where I usually stay 1) It was much nosier as it is in a busy and popular part of town. 2) There was no left luggage provision, which is always helpful for check in day and check out day as a luggage store. So you have to keep you case with you or pay additionally for a luggage store. 3) It is slightly further away, the route involves walking in busy Prince's Street and then going uphill slightly to get there. If I can I will book into Travelodge Edinburgh Central Waterloo Place. However, I was delighted they were able to accommodate me at short notice. It was very nice but other places are quieter and nearer the railway station.
