Overview
York Place is the city end of the tram line in Edinburgh. The platform is easily accessible with ramps either end and road crossings.
Transport & Parking
A great hub for getting the tram or changing to one of the many buses that stop at the adjacent bus stops.
Access
Access to the platform is good with ramps either end. Ticket machines and validation machines for cards are low enough for wheelchair access. A display tells you when the next trams are due and announcements are made. As a wheelchair user I found the wheelchair marking on the platform was great for knowing where you should wait to board the tram. Getting on the tram was a simple roll on roll off with no threshold to negotiate or tricky manoeuvres. Once on board there are two clearly marked wheelchair spaces.

Staff
Staff on the tram were excellent. Taking time to explain how ticketing works as it's a new service and answering questions.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Edinburgh trams have changed travel for many folk as it suddenly becomes possible for two wheelchair users to travel on the same tram! At last friends can go out together ...
