Overview
A great garden centre with a lovely cafe and outdoor patio area. There is wheelchair access throughout and accessible toilets.
Transport & Parking
A large car park with disabled parking bays. The ground surface is a little uneven in areas, but generally, I find it very manageable in my wheelchair.
Access
The entrance to Torwood Garden Centre is step free with automatic doors. The entrance also has a wide aisle which is very accessible. There is wheelchair access throughout the inside of the shop as well as outside. The outside has two levels, which is also accessible via a gentle slope. Lots of space between displays and planters. The cafe is a lovely place to go for something to eat. It has many sitting options and the tables were accessible for me to roll under with my wheelchair. There is also an outdoor sitting area where you can take your food and drinks out. It has parasols to shelter you from the sun or rain. The entrance to the outdoor sitting area is also step-free.
Toilets
There was an accessible toilet which had everything I needed. Grab rails next to the toilet, emergency pull cord and space for turning my wheelchair. There was mirror positioned high on the wall, but it was angled facing down so I was able to use it just fine.
Staff
All staff that I came across or spoke to seemed very friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
A great garden centre to wander through with a lovely range of plants and gifts. I've been just to go to the cafe as I liked it so much and I'll go back again.
