Overview
It wasn't easy finding a stair-free restaurant in this area so we were happy to be welcomed into Topolabamba with its cheery vibe and Mexican decor. We had the £13.99 lunch deal - two choices of dishes plus fries/rice. It was fresh, flavourful and filling. It was a fun place to have lunch and I could imagine it would be great for a longer dinner and drinks outing.
Transport & Parking
There are accessible parking options dotted around the vicinity, but you can't park directly outside. Lothian Road is well serviced by buses.
Access
There were no stairs to get in (unlike many nearby venues) and once inside the wooden flooring was flat. There were double glass doors at entrance and one side was locked. We were greeted by a staff member who helped with the doors but she didn't know how to unlock the side that was shut. Luckily we could just fit through.
Toilets
There was an accessible toilet with a sliding door to close. It looked clean. There were grab rails, low mirror and sink. A baby change table was located here too. Delighted to see a Euan's Guide Red Cord Card on the emergency cord!!
Staff
Our server was really cheerful and helpful. She didn't know how to unlock one of the entrance doors but was nothing but helpful from the moment she met us, and got us a great table with enough room to accommodate my work mate's wheelchair.
