Overview

Newly opened wheelchair accessible restaurant in the city centre of Dundee. Italian food served.

Transport & Parking

Restaurant does not have a car park although on street parking available and a council car park available a few streets away. Overgate car park is also nearby although has closing times and a rate of payment whereas if you have a blue badge you are able to park in the council car park for free. I prefer to park in a car park rather than the street due to the fact that I exit my car from the back and also not many dipped kerbs near parking spaces. There are also bus stops nearby, there is actually one right outside the restaurant and train station also nearby.

Access

Level access into restaurant and spacious entrance. There are 3 seating areas in the restaurant: tables on the access level, tables a couple of steps down and tables a flight of stairs up. Which means if you are a wheelchair user like myself then it can be a little restrictive, although we booked a table. A little tight to get past the tables if people were standing at the edge of the tables as where we were sitting it was booth seats. I sat at the end of the table and managed to fit my wheelchair in.

Toilets

Did not need to use the facilities and also as explained in other reviews I am a hoist transfer so can't use normal disabled toilets. However, I did not see any signage for a disabled toilet when entering the restaurant.

Staff

When interacting with staff members they were very friendly. When I asked for a straw and side plate they brought them straight away.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Food wasn't as good as other Itailan restaurants in Dundee. I had a starter of Arancino Mediterraneo which was okay, but my mum felt her burger had too much cheese on it. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have Rosé White Zinphindale as that's what I would usually have when out for dinner, tried prosecco though and it was alright. I struggled to hear what my family were saying as the restaurant was very noisy, not with music though just with the amount of people and the building autistics. I don't remember the noise level being that bad when it was Papa Joes and busy. All in all I would go back to Tony Macaroni but probably on a different day.
