Overview
Contemporary café serving a range of savoury food and sweet food for eat in or take away. However their speciality is tea, there is a tea menu, and they also sell loose leaf teas. Their cakes are delicious. They also serve afternoon tea. Open Monday to Friday only, 7.30am to 5 or 6pm. Not open at weekends or bank holidays.
Transport & Parking
Public transport access is excellent Farringdon + Blackfriars tube + railway station, are 5 - 8 minutes away. Some south bound buses stop directly outside the café.
Access
Step free from street to café and entire café is on ground floor level. There is a counter where take away food can be ordered and free standing table and chairs.
Toilets
Ground floor, spacious disabled accessible toilet with grab rails. There is an emergency alarm but the cord was tied up and not reaching the floor when I visited. I unravelled it so it did and informed staff about it.
Staff
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. If you eat in there is waiter service and service is quick. When I was leaving and getting my things together the waiter came over to check if I needed assistance.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This is one of my favourite cake places, would highly recommend their red velvet cake. I notice on the website under their How to Find Us Page it says "Visitors with mobility difficulties Please notify the person you are visiting in advance so that arrangements can be made for you". I visited yesterday without advanced notice and it was fine, it's step free and there's an accessible toilet, so please don't be put off if you haven't pre-booked.
