Overview
Lovely walk/wheel along the route of the former railway line. For this one we start and finish at Alsop, stopping at Tissington for refreshments. Dramatic views. Good surface - lightly compacted earth for the main part. No inclines on the trail.. Small hill from former Tissington station then down into village. We stopped at Herbert's Tearoom s for lunch and loos.
Transport & Parking
The car park at Alsop station (there's no longer a station there) is sizeable. No blue badge spaces but loads of room. No charge for blue badge holders. Grid reference SK1550 5497. It's off the main road but nothing else there so you probably need own transport.
Access
The trail is level. Surface is mostly compacted earth. To get to Tissington village, there's a short hill up and then down. My electric motor coped fine.mtheres no pavement on these short road sections so take care, especially summer and weekends. The trail is popular with cyclists so again listen out .
Toilets
Disabled loo at former Tissington station - bit grotty but welcome! If going to Herbert's, they have a lovely one.

This is one of my favourite Peak District walk. Allow a good hour each way. Views are fantastic.
