Overview
This was my first ever visit to Thomond Park, I'd heard a lot of people talk about it in the past so when the opportunity came for a visit I grabbed it with both hands, and what a fantastic place to watch a game of Rugby. The atmosphere was amazing Munster supporters are very passionate about their team that's for sure! I travelled to the stadium via taxi due to the nature of the city having been built with cobbles and high kerbs it is quite difficult for wheelchair users to navigate around without assistance. The Wheelchair spaces within Thomond Park were very spacious and the view from the West Stand around the stadium is fantastic as its raised above the rest of the crowd allowing for a clear view of the match, which is also covered from the elements.
Transport & Parking
I travelled to the ground via taxi and they were able to drop me off right outside the ground. I didn't have to wheel far at all to get in.
Access
The disabled access was great, all the ground was flat and easy to navigate and there was a very spacious lift to take you down to the lower level of which is where the Wheelchair spaces in the West Stand are situated.
Toilets
I didn't use these facilities however there were disabled toilets available just behind the Wheelchair Spaces.
Staff
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
If you are a Rugby fan then I'd recommend you visit Thomond Park, it's true what they say they're isn't an atmosphere like it at any other ground, the silence when the kicker takes a penalty is almost somewhat eerie! I'll definitely visit again sometime!
