Overview
Small shop that has level access and sells different local wines, spirits and beers.
Transport & Parking
I’m not sure how good the transport is in the town centre of Lerwick as I left my car at the Lerwick Ferry Terminal. However, the walk from the Ferry Terminal to the shops only took about 20 minutes and the pavements were quite accessible for my powerchair.
Access
There is level access into The Wine Shop, but you have to manually open the door to enter. I had to get my helper to open it for me as I don’t have the strength to open doors myself, although the door did look quite heavy, so others may struggle too. I would say there’s not much room when you get into the shop but, there is room for a wheelchair user to turn. There is a section up a few steps however, most things are sold on the level access and this is also where the cash desk is too. The shop shelves are from floor to ceiling and staff are on hand if you need help.
Toilets
There was no accessible toilet in this shop however, there is a Changing Places toilet nearby in the town centre of Lerwick.
Staff
When I purchased something the staff member was very friendly and helpful.
