Overview

I spoke to the owner-managers prior to booking my stay, and explained my accessibility needs, and asked if they had a room and facilities that would meet these needs. They have an accessible room on the ground floor, with low door sills and an en-suite wet-room with a fold-down seat and grab handles in all the right places (well, for me they were perfect.) The food in the restaurant was great and the views from the room, from inside and outside the (accessible) restaurant were jaw-droppingly gorgeous! The owners and staff could not have been more friendly or helpful than they were. They were never patronising or condescending: just really nice!

Transport & Parking

There was a disabled parking space very close to the entrance, which was also very convenient for the (ground floor) accessible bedroom we stayed in. As the hotel is a couple of miles outside Oban, I don't think there is much in the way of public transport options, hence my deduction of 0.5 of a star.

Access

There was a ramp alternative for accessing the restaurant's outside terrace - which was great. I didn't even see any other steps!

Toilets

There was a clearly signed accessible loo, with enough space to manoeuvre. Unfortunately, however, it was not particularly tidy and it was not clean. The bin was overflowing, for example. It appeared to me that the Cleaning Staff must have an aversion to going in there! On a better note - the en-suite wetroom in our room was impeccable!

Staff

The staff that I met were all great: very helpful and friendly. I have deducted 0.5 stars because of the cleaner (who I never met) who evidently did not venture into the accessible hotel toilet for cleaning purposes very often.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

In summary, I loved this place and will return as soon as I can. The views; the ease of accessibility; the staff I met; the comfort of the room and the food were all great.
