Overview
The Watch House is a restaurant by the harbour with level wheelchair access to the ground floor specialising in locally sourced seafood dishes.
Transport & Parking
There is a public carpark very close to the restaurant, however it gets very busy during the tourist season and you have to pay, even with a blue badge. The carpark gets steeper the further in you go so I would advise trying to park as close to the entrance as possible.
Access
There is level access to the ground floor with tables downstairs and more up a flight of stairs. Although the space between tables was wide enough for me to get through with my wheelchair it might require some careful maneuvering with a powerchair. The table we sat at was high enough for me to get my legs under while sitting in my wheelchair.
Toilets
The restaurant has a disabled toilet, but space is a bit tight as it also has a baby changing table and is used to store highchairs (though they could be moved on request). It was quite clean and had a suitable bin, but the soap and mirror were too high up and the toilet seat was quite loose. There were plenty of grab handles and the sink had an automatic tap.
Staff
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The food was excellent and the restaurant had a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Well behaved dogs and children are very welcome.
