Overview
We went to see a comedian at the Wardrobe. The main entrance to the upstairs bar area has about five steps. Wheelchair access is a few metres to the left of the main entrance in the box office. You can get to the bar this way. We had emailed the Wardrobe before buying tickets for the comedian which we recommend. The Wardrobe will offer companion tickets and book accessible seats with a great view. When we arrived the door staff made us feel really comfortable and welcome and took us down in the lift before everyone else. He explained clearly what would happen in an emergency and where to go.
Transport & Parking
The Wardrobe is very close to Leeds Bus Station and about a 20 minute walk from Leeds City train station. Taxis can drop off outside but we do not know about parking.
Access
Toilets
The disabled loo is in the backstage area which was pointed out to us. The toilet was cold and they only had wall bars as opposed to a pull down bar. The toilet was clean with enough room for a medium sized wheelchair. There is not enough room for a carer.
Staff
The staff were really friendly and funny and helped hold the door when my girlfriend needed to go to the toilet. We stayed behind to meet and greet the comedian and had to jump the queue as the lift belonged to the Playhouse (next door) and they needed it - this can be seen as good or bad! The door staff were very apologetic about having to leave like this.
