Amazing small theatre
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair, Powerchair, Mobility Scooter
Overview
We have been twice recently to the Turbine theatre as they had a musical we loved (But I’m a Cheerleader). The venue has step free access from entrance to theatre. There is an accessible loo, a box office/bar area and a wide corridor
Transport & Parking
We used public transport one time (Vauxhall has a ramp available and lifts to the platform/entrance/exit). There’s a bus station outside with multiple buses that will take you to the power station close by (not recommended for people who find walking difficult as it was a considerable distance to the theatre, which is under the train arches). There are some car parks but nothing very close sadly.
Access
The staff (and cast) were brilliant. There is a large wheelchair space in the front row with two seats directly next to it. The view was brilliant and because you were close you felt like you were a part of the show!! There was seating in the small bar area. The staff are great. You can email them saying when you want to go, they reserve the seat/space and send a link to pay. You then have your name ticked off when you arrive. They were also great when we arrived as the show was starting and got us in swiftly with minimal fuss.
Toilets
They have a large accessible loo. Plenty of space for a large powerchair and an extra person. Grab rails are good and no radar key required. A good mirror. Can’t remember if there were hooks. I’m not sure where the closest changing places is possibility in Battersea power station?
Staff
All were amazing and really helpful. It was a pleasure to visit and I would definitely go again.
