Overview

We loved this hotel in Kirkwall. The accessible room has a large wet room with grips on the wall, bar that raises and lowers around the toilet, portable shower seat. Big room with tons of space to turn around. Lift to access room is available. Restaurant and common areas all accessible. Restaurant will cater to specific diets (OMS, vegan, dairy free..). Good disabled toilet on first floor. No disabled parking bays, but hosts are great and let us park in front where they usually park hotel vehicles. We loved it, felt really welcome.

Transport & Parking

No bays, but hosts will accommodate you so you can park in front of hotel door.

Access

All flat entry from street. Lift to accessible room. Additional hall door before entry to room. Doors are a bit heavy.

Toilets

Great accessible toilet on ground floor, and accessible room. Good space to manoeuvre Very clean. Definitely space for carer.

Staff

Very friendly and helpful. Carried bags, shown to rooms. Helped pick out dairy free items in restaurant. They were great!

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The decor is lovely here, very Scottish and arty. It’s in a good location to the high street which is an easy stroll (or roll) from the hotel. Staff was really accommodating. We’ll be back for sure!
