Overview
A town centre location, huge panoramic windows with the harbour and West side of the town visible from any position and a relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable evening.
Transport & Parking
No private parking but there is a large car Park opposite and behind the Star. With local knowledge there are 3 disabled parking areas close by, on the main road through town, but not that easy to find as a visitor. My suggestion is to stop immediately outside to drop off a mobility impaired person.
Access
It is a level surface from the pedestrian area outside to the table. The front door was closed with no obvious bell or sign to summon assistance but, on both visits, a member of staff saw me from reception and opened the door for me.
Toilets
Once inside the loo is good with left side transfer, low basin, support rails etc. It's location is not ideal as it is through the Ice Cream shop (same business ) which may be crowded at times. No signage within the restaurant or reception area.
Staff
Our waitress was excellent and the male behind reception was attentive and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The spacious interior of the restaurant makes it very easy to accommodate my wheelchair despite it being busy. I also enjoyed being able to see everything, both inside and outside, which isn't always the case when I'm given a table "in the corner". With at least 2 other high quality fish restaurants in town I would return to the Star due to its internal space, meaning that I dont disturb other diners when I need the loo etc. As for the food our party of 4 all had something different as a main course, all being much enjoyed. The sweets too were excellent with my main and sweet being exceptionally good.
