Overview
Lovely cocktail bar/restaurant. Was able to access lower part of bar, rest of bar including toilets was up four to five steps. They advised my friend that they had an accessible toilet up the steps but that they had a ramp for me to use to access this. When the time came, no member of staff knew how to set the ramp up, it was unsafe and had a gap at the top and the bottom between the ramp and floor. I tried to go up it but the ramp just moved. A member of staff suggested I use the toilet in the pub across the road!!! We paid the bill and left. A member of staff apologised for the bad experience I had had. Other patrons were sitting looking on in disbelief.
Transport & Parking
Used an accessible wheelchair taxi to get dropped off at the front door.
Access
Could only access entry level of bar as there were four to five steps.
Toilets
Four to five steps to get to disabled toilets, staff said they had a ramp. When we asked for ramp to be put down, no member of staff knew how to set the ramp up, it was unsafe, moved about and there was a gap at the top and bottom. When I tried to go up the ramp, my chair actually just pushed the ramp.
Staff
Very nice, polite and friendly staff, though obviously untrained in how to set up disabled ramp.
