Overview
I visited the hotel to attend an event. Access for me as a powerchair user was fairly good once I got in the building.
Transport & Parking
Transport for me was pretty good with bus stops only a short distance away on the North Bridge. It's also fairly handy for the station.
Access
Given the historic nature of the building, a former newspaper offices, getting around was fairly good. The hotel is set across several floors and a lift connects you to these. Internal doors were wide enough for me to get through but did require careful alignment of my chair. The lift was compact and of the style where you wheel in and roll out with no turning space. Changes in the internal floor level in the conference area had ramps; carpeted to match other areas.
Toilets
The accessible toilet in the conference meeting room area needs some attention. There was a large wooden baby changing unit immediately in the entrance area that prevented my turning and getting in. I had to ask for it to be removed. The beautiful, white, hand towels were on a shelf out of reach for me as a wheelchair user - another wet hands day.
Staff
Staff were helpful and moved things out of the way and opened doors for me. The front doors were particularly challenging - two sets of the double swing type. Fortunately, once I was spotted help was on hand.
