Overview
I really like the Safari Lounge, I thought it was some hipster bar in Meadowbank and really bothered with it until a few months a go. The first time was for pints a few months back, we were really pleasantly surprised by their selection. The food is absolutely fantastic, not totally what you'd expect, ribs, tacos, burgers, it sounds like the normal hipster bar food but it's much fresher and taster than most! The bar is pretty much step free, but unfortunately their is no accessible toilet.
Transport & Parking
Bus stop right outside the pub and plenty of buses go past. Though walked here.
Access
The bar is pretty much all on the same level with a small threshold at the front entrance. They have an exhibition room down a narrow flight of stairs but I never venture down there.
Toilets
One positive, they have toilets, on the same level. But, the men’s are really exposed, the urinal is basically beside the door and when the door is open everyone can see you pee as its beside a busy corridor where folk go between two rooms. No accessible loo.
Staff
Always very friendly and helpful, they will bring drinks over and allow you tasters.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
On Wednesday's they have an open mic and the guy yesterday was rather good. Also it's a dog friendly bar and there’s always dogs in there - yesterday we had the company of two very well behaved bassets! woohoo!
