Overview

Visited the hotel to attend a Wedding on arrival we were meet by the hotel dog who extemly friendly. The wedding ceremony took place in the Concervatory attached to the venue that we access via what looked like a breakfast room. Unfortunately however I was not impressed by the hotel in any way.

Transport & Parking

1.5

There is a large area at the front of the hotel that is used for parking however we did not notice any Blue Badge spaces during our visit

Access

1.5

You enter via the main door which has a wooden ramp in place that looks like it has been in place for some time as it looked very worn. Once the hotel it is like stepping back in time as much of the venue is unchanged since it was built in the late 1700 or early 1800. Most of the ground floor area was level however there was is a step to enter the Wedding room which is a conservatory this area has seating that could be moved to accommodate a wheelchair but the step could be a problem for some people The meal after the wedding was served in another room that again accessed via the breakfast room however this was all on one level The evening reception took place in the bar at area which is on the right hand side as you enter the venue and again this was level with a mixture of seats available

Toilets

0

There is no accessible toilet in this venue there are basically a Gents toilet that is you will find on the left hand side after you enter the hotel and the ladies toilet which is upstairs and there is no lift. A wheelchair will go through the door to enter the Gents toilet but that is about it there are a Urinal which has a step up to it and one toilet pan that is in a small cubicle and involves having to turn sideways to use after you walk in There are no grip rails in place and I am told that there are only Two toilets available in the ladies toilet which is also very small and has no grip rails.

Staff

3

The staff that served the meal were very nice but also busy as they did not seem to be that many of them in relation to the number of guests attending the same staff were also doing the bar

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I did email the venue to ask about the situation with accessible toilets but never received a reply however I knew the situation after asking someone to call in and have a look. I actually took my own grip, rail, with me and left it up doing the time I was there. We also noticed a number of dead flys or Bees on the window leadge in the conservatory. Unfortunately the camera we were using ran out of power before we could take any photos of the hotel
