Overview
We stayed for 2 nights B&B, but were so impressed that we also had dinner here on both nights.
Transport & Parking
When we phoned to book, the staff explained that they only have room to park 4 cars as there is on street parking round about. However, they reserved us one of the places on hearing we needed disabled access.
Access
There are no steps and all areas are wide, clear and open, no problem at all with my electric wheelchair. There are 10 bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors with lift access. we were in room 10 which had plenty of room for a big wheelchair and a huge ensuite with roll in shower, shower seat and plenty of grab rails.
Toilets
The disabled toilets are on the ground floor, easily accessible in my power chair, spotlessly clean and tidy with lots of space and grab rails. Lovely hand-wash! I deducted half a star simply because the paper towels were packed so tightly into the dispenser that each one tore as I tried to remove it.
Staff
If I could give the staff more than 5 stars, I would! They were friendly, helpful, welcoming and efficient, to everyone, as I heard other guests commenting on how good they were.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This is a very impressive hotel and we will definitely stay here again. Just outside, on the main road (it's not a busy road) there are loads of lovely independent shops with many places to eat and drink. If you want to wander around the area then the pavements/dropped kerbs are wheelchair friendly. The main bar is obviously well loved by locals (and their dogs). There is also a small library, with fire, if you want a quieter spot for your after dinner coffee, or just to chill.
