Overview

SET SAT NAV. GL54 5RU. The PLOUGH INN at Ford. If you are following our suggested route, then you will depart From the pretty hamlet of Snowshill for the 15 minute drive to the Inn. What a delightful attractive interesting little old 16th century Cotswold Inn, sitting in the very small hamlet of Ford, in Gloucestershire. Right opposite stands the Jackdaw Castle racing stables, voted Channel Four racing pub of the year in 2013, and it’s not hard to see why. You can get a climbs of this race track from the car park itself, over to the left as looking towards the Inn. The Inn itself is very pleasant and During the Spring and Summer months you will see flower filled pots and boxes, hanging baskets overflowing with delightful colours, and a pleasant sitting area in well maintained lawns. OUR PHOTOS The Inn stands at the top of a steep hill (photo 1) on a bend of a very fast road, so be careful when crossing. A lovely cottage of Cotswold stone, although not quite the honey coloured stone you will get used to, but still very attractive (photo 2) stand opposite the car park (photo 3) where you can look across to see the Jackdaw Castle racing track. The terraced fencing on the other side of main road has a small gate you need to use to get into the Inn (photo 4) right by the bend (photo 5) but you cannot avoid how attractive the Inn looks with a colourful display of shrubs and roses (photo 6) which leads to the entrance for the delightful Inn (photo 7) It still holds that olde worlde appeal as you order at the bar (photo 8) with a fine reputation for good old English grub, with a choice of rooms to sit at and enjoy a local brew (photos 9; 10 and 11) The toilets are outside in the courtyard (photo 12) basic, but clean, but dodgy to get at if raining, so choose a nice sunny warm day, and if you have done so, why not enjoy your drink out on the lawn (photo 13) ( AFTER A SHORT VISIT, ENTER THE SAT NAV DIRECTIONS MENTIONED TO GET YOU TO THE NEXT DESTINATION OF LOWER SLAUGHTER ) SET SAT NAV. GL54 1ES. condicote village, although there is nothing of appeal. and then SET SAT NAV GL54 1LF. Lower Swell, a small village but uninteresting But this is the nicest way to get you to Lower Slaughter, which you will not want to miss, as it’s one of the most beautiful of all Cotswold villages. ( PLEASE READ REVIEW FOR LOWER SLAUGHTER )

Transport & Parking

Large car park across the road, but on a fast main road and a bend, be careful crossing over

Access

3.5

After safely getting across a fast road with a bend, then it’s nice and level for you, enter property via a terraced gate, and into main entrance which is level for you.

Toilets

3

Basic ladies and gents, small but very clean cubicles, no hand rail or pull cord, but they are outside in courtyard, dodgy if raining.
