Overview

Once inside, access is good plus there's a disabled loo (notwithstanding the fact it's very light on grab rails, it was good to see one). We held a wake here and the staff were very helpful, food was very good. The pubs had a bit of a makeover and is very nice now. With a few further simple improvements disabled access could be very good.

Transport & Parking

No blue badge spaces but there was plenty of room in the car park. The car park is tarmac so reasonable to wheel on. The entrance to the bar is round the side via the garden - it's firm underfoot and smooth to wheel on. Not sure how close public transport passes - I suspect you need to drive here.

Access

The entrance door is down a few steps but there's an adjacent ramp. It's a little steep so great care is needed if you're on foot or self propelling. There are double doors which staff will unlock for you though I managed to get my chair through with just one open - once inside the smooth floor was easy to negotiate. Everything is on one level in the main bar - just a small step up to the dining area if you are eating up there (needed help to get up it).

Toilets

There's a lovely large loo, easily accessed from the main bar area. However there's only one grab rail and that's not well located. Also the basin and hand drier are some way from the loo without anything to hold onto. No alarm. Flooring was carpet so difficult to wheel on.

Staff

Staff were quick to help with doors etc,

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would suggest a small handrail by the ramp to assist people using the ramp (it's not just wheelchair users who need to use ramps!). Also I'd suggest adding some more grab rails to the assisted loo. The pubs made a great start though!
