Overview
I recently visited the O2 arena for a concert. I am very happy with the experience I had, I found the facilities to be very accessible: staff were also very attentive and accommodating.
Transport & Parking
We used the Uber Boat Thames Clipper to get to the venue from the London Eye Dock to the North Greenwich Dock. This was a great option, the docks and boats are very accessible and a great way to see the sites on the way! The North Greenwich dock is approximately 5 minutes from the entrance to the arena. After the concert we got a taxi from the rank outside of the venue. It is fairly easy to find as there is signage and an audio tannoy providing directions.
Access
There is level access into the venue. Once inside there are lifts available access to the different levels. Way finding in the shopping district is a little bit difficult as there isn’t much signage other than wall maps. Inside the arena itself the access is good. We were guided to our spots on the elevated viewing platform, the platform is fairly large and has good turning space. It was located near the stage and provided a fantastic view. There is also a member of staff there to assist and retrieve food and drink orders if needed.
Toilets
I used the changing places toilet as I require the use of a hoist. The toilet was fantastic, it was a great size. There was plenty of space for my carer to assist me. The bed is height adjustable and has a side rail to make it feel secure. There are also two pull down grab rails located next to the toilet. The toilet is also at a good height. Additionally, the sink is located far enough away from the toilet bowl providing plenty of space to move my chair.
Staff
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
