Overview
Northern Market has replaced Assembly Underground. The main entrance is a steep, narrow flight of steps. Wheelchair access is via a back entrance and a platform lift. Whenthe door isn't locked, furniture is packed so tightly into the area outside it it's impossible to get through. The main seating area is very dimly lit and quite loud. Most of the wheelchair-friendly tables have been placed in a section up two steps. The other tables are either long with benches, or high up. Counters for purchasing food are at an unreasonable height for wheelchair access. Upon attending the work Christmas party, they decided to block the area with kegs despite my colleagues saying not to. People had to haul kegs out of the way so I could in. If you complain about access issues you will simply get offered free stuff, and the access issues won't get addressed (even if you are raising the issues while inside the building, don't expect them to fix the access issues). I couldn't reach the accessible bathroom due to the kegs, and just hope they're not using it for storage.
