Overview

Met a friend for breakfast and mid-morning coffee over two hours in the restaurant on the first floor of the R&A World Golf Museum.

Transport & Parking

I drove into the large public car park, where the council has waived charges from early November as most "links" cafes have closed for the winter. Several blue badge parking spaces (free all year round) near the few steps entrance to the museum.

Access

A short walk up a few steps with a hand rail, walkways had been salted as overnight temperatures were well below freezing, entrance through the museum and a dedicated lift up to the restaurant.

Toilets

Did not use.

Staff

Museum staff opened a few minutes early as it was freezing outside, then one accompanied me in the lift to the restaurant. It wasn't necessary but appreciated all the same. Restaurant staff then took over and escorted me to an excellent window table with views of both the West Sands (the opening scene in Chariots of Fire) and the Old Course. Great food, not cheap, but attentive table service during our stay and again on departure.
