Overview
We had a Saturday evening dinner at the New Inn and stayed over in their car park in our motorhome. When I rang to check whether they were accessible or not, they had to go and check and call me back. They said they were but that the accessible toilet was inside the ladies/gents toilets. They said it was fine as long as I didn't have a large electric wheelchair, which I don't. I'll come back to that later... What was absolutely superb, was the food! It was hot, fresh, tasty and good-sized portions! Possibly the best scampi I've ever had!
Transport & Parking
The New Inn was easy to get to by motorhome and it has a large car park. The car park was almost full when we arrived, but it was Saturday afternoon on a warm, sunny day, so probably as busy as it gets. We managed to park though okay.
Access
With the exception of the toilets, everything was easy enough. There is a ramped entry at the front of the pub and there was enough space to move around inside.
Toilets
I have a normal sized active wheelchair but there was no chance of me getting into the toilets. The corridor is very narrow with two right-angle bends. I ended up using my own toilet in the motorhome, which was fortunately easy to get to. If you can walk a little though, one of the toilets does have a good, secure grab rail... hence 1 star.
Staff
The staff were lovely! In spite of the toilet issue, we had a great evening! It's great being able to stay overnight in the car park for free! The staff came out to check we were okay and even offered to move us to a spot with a better morning view.
