Overview
This is a small, one room, step free access local history museum. It has display boards and a few exhibits. The museum is free and is open during the summer season. Well worth visiting as it fits a lot of fascinating things into a small space. If you love history you will adore it. My favourite was about the granite quarry and it being used for the Albert Memorial and other buildings.
Transport & Parking
The local bus stops is a couple of minutes, level walk away from the museum.
Access
The single entrance door is manual. There is step free access from pavement to museum, and the entire museum is in one large ground floor room. When I visited it was not busy so it was easy to get round. The only problem I had was the lack of seating and ended up not staying as long as I wanted due to this.
Toilets
There are no toilets in the museum.
Staff
Staff were busy talking to other visitors when I arrived and they stopped and said hello, and goodbye, otherwise no interaction with the staff.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This is a fascinating small museum. I highly recommend it. Lots of see.
