Overview
This cafe is legendary with hill walkers & climbers. The cakes & scones are massive & tasty. There are lots of books, maps & pictures to look at & the place has an eclectic feel, sadly the access is very tight & you'll need a sherpa to help you. The adjoining bookshop isn't accessible for wheelchairs. there is a sun lounge but i didn't try getting in as i"d already bashed into a belgian lady in the queue. oops! Staff can sometimes be a bit grumpy but, hey, the coffee & hot chocolate are good.
Transport & Parking
you'll need a car as it's up the top of a very steep hill. There is a small car park
Access
The doorway is narrow, we had to move a display stand to get in. The cafe itself is very cluttered, leading to the unfortunate incident with the Belgian tourist!
Toilets
The toilet is just about large enough to get a wheelchair in. however it's in a very narrow corridor with an unfortunate angle to it. i was glad of my sherpa (thanks mum!)
Staff
Staff are not particularly friendly or helpful - some are nicer than others.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
maybe get a takeaway? and look for a public toilet. lol.
