Mill Centre, Blackburn
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Mobility Scooter
Overview
I often visit the Mill Centre with my Gran who uses walking aids and often a mobility scooter or a wheelchair. This allowed me to see how accessible the centre was for those who need more space and specific entry requirements.
Transport & Parking
I am aware that there is a bus stop at the back of the centre next to the car park and there is also one out the front. It is on the main road running through Blackburn towards Bathgate and stands out quite well. At the back of the centre there is fair sized car park which is shared with the Partnership Centre. Unfortunately there are not many disabled parking spaces who those who need them. The nearest train station is in Bathgate which is approximately a 45 minute walk away.
Access
At the main entrance there is a ramp (which isn't too steep) from the street up to the main/front doors. Coming in from the car park there are no steps which creates easy access although there are a few uneven slabs on the ground. Inside the centre is all flat, smooth tiled flooring. All shops have easy, spacious access for wheelchairs and walking aids.
Toilets
There are no toilets in the Mill Centre or outside. The closest toilets are in the Partnership Centre which is located next to the car park.
Staff
I had no interaction with 'The Mill Centre' staff, only workers in the shops therefore I cannot comment or rate this.
