Overview

Having been to the sister restaurant (Gardener’s Cottage) we were keen to try this. It didn’t disappoint-we were incredibly lucky-a clear and sunny evening to enjoy the views. Staff great. 2 tables to choose from-1 more suitable for wheelchairs (more space around) But-be prepared. Anniversary or significant birthday meal due to high cost. You don’t get choice-5 course tasting menu is £65 (and that’s before cocktail/wine/cheese/service etc.). Kitchen is open so you can see what’s going on. Food was outstanding-Michelin standard. Ours was SNACKS: Beetroot & ewes curd waffle Truffle, duck & walnut crisp Dunbar crab tart Tomatoes, ewes curd & nasturtium TO START: Hand dived Orkney scallop, lobster butter, sea vegetables MAIN: Perthshire Roe deer loin, squash purée & plum DESSERT: Raspberry, white Chocolate, yoghurt TO FINISH: Blood orange, chocolate & hazelnut cone Salted Caramel chocolate

We took a taxi which will take you up the hill Parking available by arrangement for blue badge holders

Access

From drop off-it is a walk on a gravel path for about 200 yards to the restaurant Once in, ok. We had a choice of 2 tables (1 normal and 1 “chefs table”). We chose chefs table as bigger and not near other tables so easy to manoeuvre.
