Overview
This building is very accessible, parking sufficient, staff are amazing and toilets seem to be improving.
Transport & Parking
The building is on the corner of Low Grange and Marsh House Avenue so there are many bus options to attend depending on where you live. The car park itself isn't too big and doesn't have any dedicated disabled spaces but there is also a second car park round the back (shared with a gambling shop that is quiet so car park is fairly empty) which almost doubles the spaces.
Access
This building is very accessible. The front of the building has very small ramps in tarmac rather than a step into the building, there is lots of ground floor seating available and banisters if you wish to go upstairs. They have an induction loop. In terms of the garden area outside there is a few steps to get into from the main building but there is a fence and gate on the side with easy enough access for me with a rollter to use and is roughly the same distance to get to the toilets and bar as the step access.
Toilets
There is only 1 disabled toilet whereas there is 2 for abled toilet use (one womens and mens on each side of the building) but it has sufficient space for use and turning and is clean. There used to be a small issue with the cord being tied back (presumably by parents using the baby change) but I placed a Euan's guide cord card on months ago and since it has always been freely hanging when I have been in. I personally have a small issue using the toilets alone as the door can stick and with my weak joints I can't always open it alone but since it is a wooden door I think it is due to weather warping it which I guess can't exactly be helped and since there is enough space for a carer to be in there with me if needed we can handle it.
Staff
The staff here are amazing. They are always friendly and especially patient with me. I frequent this place quite often so I have gotten to know how they handle many situations. I have had no questions or stares when I needed a hot water bottle, to prop up my ankle (on my own device) and even have someone else cut up my food due to different issues. They also handled one of my falls especially well with first and foremost asking me what I needed and making sure other well meaning patreons didn't overcrowd or fuss me which helped massively since I feel terrible if I fall and cause a scene. Once me and my carer handled the situation and got me back to my table/seat they even made sure to come over and check how I was doing after a little while to make sure I was okay but not overwhelm me.
