Overview
The access is quite good and much better than the old library .I visited shortly after the library was opened so it was very busy.I found some of the walkways a bit narrow so if I was going one way and another wheelchair or pushchair was coming in the opposite direction one of us had to wait. The library itself is great , great views, a roof top garden, Shakespeare room , places to eat. Lifts to all floors. An interesting place to visit.
Transport & Parking
There are only a couple of disabled spots next to the library and they were both occupied. There is no public car ark.Transport is good by bus or train as it is near the city centre
Access
Corridors a bit narrow .There should be more lifts as I had to wait for ages , as they were all busy.
Toilets
I can't really rate these, there were disabled toilets but I didn't use them
Staff
The staff could have been more helpful. It was busy the day I went and would have been old if the staff had helped managed he lifts. I went to the roof garden which Is on the 5th floor I think and the lift kept stopping full up from the top floor so I couldn't fit in. I waited for ages to be able to get in. My Mom spoke to them when we got to the ground floor eventually and we left a comments card with an e mail address about the problem , but nobody got back to us.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Although I had a problem with getting a space in the lift and the corridors were narrow , I think this was made more difficult as the library was so busy, as it had recently opened. I am going to visit again, as it was an interesting place to visit. Interesting both to look at outside, inside and great views.
