Overview
A popular and delightful Chinese restaurant, which we have visited before, and always satisfied with our meals. It is situated opposite the bus stops for Touchwood shopping centre (photo 1) There are eight disabled bays available if you are fortunate enough (photo 2) right outside The Jade Wok (photo 3) READ OUR NOTES ABOUT PARKING BELOW but there is a step to get up, then a very tight bend to get round inside (photo 4) The restaurant is delightful, always spotlessly clean and tidy (photo 5) with a small bar and decorated with typical Chinese art (photo 6) with plenty of room for seating (photo 7) and the wheelchair can be placed out of the way (photo 8) The food is excellent (photo 9) with a two course meal available at lunch time, with quite a good selection of usual Chinese meals for you to choose from (photo 10) and we always seem to go beyond what we really need, with that extra course (photo 11) but like all others, chin up and get stuck in, very nice. The toilets are just to left of bar, with a disabled marked (photo 12) but very small, no chair will get inside. It is spotlessly clean, no smells and always tidy (photo 13) OUR FINAL THOUGHTS If you do have a little mobility then certainly come here. It’s a beautiful restaurant, tastefully decorated, the food is plenty enough, to die for in our opinion. It is spotlessly clean, no smells, well looked after and has friendly staff. It is disappointing that it is not wheelchair friendly, and nothing can be done to help, but if you can, do visit, we highly recommend it for able bodied.
Transport & Parking
This is situated along a row of mainly food outlets (photo 1) If you are fortunate enough, there are quite a few disabled bays right outside the restaurant (photo 2) If these are full, then there is FREE disabled parking at the Mell Square car park, Sat NAV B91 3DT. open until about 9.00pm. But it’s on the top floor, with a lift inside the store. There is also parking in the touchwood centre, with a charge.
Access
Sadly this is not really wheelchair friendly, there is a small step to get up to enter front door, and then only a normal sized wheelchair would get round the bend to be able to reach your seats, a scooter or large chairs would not get in. However, if you have a little mobility and can manage the step, then you will enjoy this pleasant restaurant.
Toilets
there is a disabled toilet, but very small, no chair will get in, and the ladies public toilet although being spotlessly clean, is rather small.
Staff
Friendly but very helpful and kind, will take your chair inside for you ( as long as you are not in it) and will provide a fast and friendly service, it’s well liked by locals.
