Weeks stay at lodge
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Mobility Scooter
Overview
We found this place by searching on Google for a holiday cottage in the area . The lodge is adjoining the owners house they also run a b and b . The lodge has steps up at the front but I could access the lodge via the back door . Doorways are wide to cater for a wheelchair . There are two bedrooms and shower room upstairs . Downstairs is the main bedroom which can be either set up as a double or twin room . The wetroom bathroom has height adjustable sink there is a bath plus separate showers which is suitable for the shower wheelchair which they can provide . There are plenty of grab rails. The lounge diner and kitchen are all one room so plenty of room to get around . There is also a riser recliner chair . The owners asked us to arrive between 4-5pm on the Saturday. They showed us how everything worked . There is a patio outside and chairs and table in summer house which you can use. The owners also own a wild area which is sectioned off from the garden which you are welcome to walk through there is a pond in here , at the bottom of this area are views out over the hills .
Transport & Parking
It’s a gravel parking area out the front of the b and b but we were able to reverse our car near to where there are slabs making it easier for the wheelchair
Access
Access was good although there are steps at the main entrance . I was able to access the lodge via the back door in my wheelchair. Downstairs it’s all on one level
Toilets
The wetroom has a high rise toilet with room for a wheelchair . It Also has grab rails
Staff
The owners were helpful showing us how everything worked in the lodge . There was also information on places to visit and where to eat . Just be aware that the owners have a dog which will wander into the lodge if the door is open. But it’s a well behaved dog and very friendly.
