Overview
We stayed at the above for a week at the end of May 2019. The accommodation was in pristine condition & John & Jan the owners were very friendly as was Ollie their Springer Spaniel. One of our party was in a wheelchair & needed 2:1 support whilst transferring and there was sufficient space in all rooms ( including the downstairs bathroom ) to facilitate this. We especially liked the height adjustable kitchen worktops/ sink even though we did not need them adjusted in height as our wheelchair user had no desire to wash up etc. 😂 The Interior of the Lodge & the aids available more than covered our particular needs & I’m unable to think of anything within the lodge that needed any improvement. The sofas & beds were very comfortable and the showers were powerful. You have your choice of crockery either the expensive set or a more daily use set. I opted for the daily use set just in case and that proved to be a good decision as I broke a mug and all breakages have to be paid for. Jan & John did let me off though as it wasn’t the expensive China. The grounds are beautifully kept but the acres of land ( woods & fields ) is hard going for the person pushing a manual wheelchair. However you could easily sit out on the patio area. This area could be enhanced by purchasing a patio table & chairs as although there is garden furniture in the summer house it’s wood or rattan which has to be taken in & out (weather dependent) and the wooden fold up chairs not very comfortable when trying to relax in the garden. You can hear the traffic from the dual track but soon become accustomed to it. This is accommodation we would return to.
