Overview
After a small lip at the entrance, floors are smooth and level. Staff were welcoming and ever so considerate of my mobility problems, helping as needed. There's a loo which whilst not fully equipped will be sufficient for many peoples needs. Air conditioning was great! Lovely salon which is now my regular.
Transport & Parking
There is a blue badge bay about five yards from the door and space to park directly outside the salon on double yellow lines. The nearest car park is about ten minutes walk/push away so on street parking is the best bet. There's a bus stop almost opposite in the High Street.
Access
Once over the entrance threshold which is shared with the neighbouring shop (a lip, not a step, and it's very shallow but care needed as there's a loose tile), the door opens easily inwards. Floors are smooth, wooden and easy to roll on. I had a wheeled walker which was stable and easy to push - care might be needed with crutches or sticks. There are no steps - a ramp negotiates the change in level to the wash basins. Chairs were a decent height for getting in and out of. Plenty of room to manoeuvre.
Toilets
The loo is located at the very rear so potentially a bit of a trek for some. Whilst not specially adapted, the owner has installed a rail to be helpful and is considering further improvements. The loo is very spacious there's no alarm cord but staff are close at hand. No signage at present but staff can direct.
Staff
All staff very helpful. Moves between seats were kept to a minimum to make things easier for me. Assistance was given when getting out of seats etc.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It's lovely to find a hairdressers which has no steps and a loo I can use. The aircon was a joy - my condition is heat sensitive. The hairstyling was superb too!
