A stop at the Green Welly!

Overview
The name is fantastic, the location beautiful and there are plenty of options in the shops however it was a bit of a let down in accessibility and the staff were not very helpful or disability aware.
Transport & Parking
There are 5 disabled parking spaces near the entrance. Two of these had no additional space at the sides and there wasn’t much room. The car park is quite stony and there is gravel which made it quite difficult to self propel my wheelchair.
Access
Access round the shops was quite difficult as there is not much space for a wheelchair between shelves. Doors are also quite narrow and heavy and I had to be rescued by a passerby as I got stuck in a door at the entrance. The cafe was also quite difficult to access due to the layout. Boards were high up so difficult to read from a chair, there was no help carrying trays to a table and cutlery had to be collected from a separate part of the cafe. As it was very busy there was limited seating options as a lot of the seating is down some stairs and can’t be reached. The toilets are up stairs however there is a wheelchair lift that the wheelchair user operates to be able to get to the top of the stairs.
Toilets
There is one accessible toilet at the back of the venue (reached by using a wheelchair lift up some stairs). There was quite a lot of space and it was clean.
Staff
Staff were not very helpful or aware of the extra difficulties a wheelchair user may face in the venue. My PA was spoken to rather than me even when I was the one clearly paying for items. There was no help from staff when I got stuck trying to open a door or in trying to take my food from the cafe counter to a table which made it very difficult and stressful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I really wanted to like the Green Welly Stop as it seems a fantastic place to Stop while on a journey however I would be reluctant to stop again as I found it not very accessible and the staff were unfriendly.
